Copycat Crumbl Cookies

Oh my goodness - where do I start with expressing my love for Crumbl Cookies.  I was introduced to them by my cousin who had a shop near her home.  She thought this would be a fun activity for me and my Little Sis to do.  She’s my Little Sis through Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana, and we’ve been matched since March 2017 when she was in 7th grade.  And now she’s a freshman in college!  But I digress!  Back to my obsession.  So my Little Sis and I went there in Indy.  I thought they had a box of 4 for some reason, but while we were standing in line, I figured out they had either single cookies or a half dozen.  So of course we had to go for a half dozen!  We went during October which is breast cancer awareness month so all of the cookies were pink which also happens to be my favorite color.  One of the smart things they do at the shop is serve some chilled and others warmed.  I think this is such a brilliant idea as most cookie shops just give you room temperature cookies.  This is fine, but the warm or chilled options were such a nice touch.  The flavors we got were: pink velvet - a pink cookie with cream cheese frosting with pink crumbles, ruby chocolate chip where the chips were actually pink, pink doughnut with rainbow sprinkles, and a chocolate cookie with pink frosting.  Each one was so good and had its own unique flavor meaning they didn’t just taste of sugar.  They were soft, chewy cookies and were quite large in size.  My Little Sis and I took bites of all the cookies so we could try each flavor.  And they sell little bottles of milk which I highly recommend to go with the cookies.  We had plenty of leftovers to share with each of our families.  I ate off of my cookies for several days as I would take just a bite of each one every day.  They held well in the fridge for several days and didn’t get hard or dried out either.  So I can’t say enough good things about these cookies.  I also can’t believe that I haven’t been back there again yet!

So for another get together with my Little Sis, we decided to try our hand at making a copycat version of a Crumbl cookies and cream milkshake cookie.  Again - oh my goodness!  These were some of the best cookies I’ve ever made - and cookies are my favorite things to bake.  They came out chewy and soft and so flavorful.  I searched on Pinterest for copycat Crumbl cookies which yielded many results.  The one I decided to try was from Life Style of a Foodie.  She has many varieties in a handy carousel across the top of her website - brilliant! I picked this flavor as I have really been into cookies and cream lately despite not liking chocolate that much (I know, it’s strange).  I’m not sure what makes these cookies so good as they follow a typical cookie making process.  They do have a little confectioner’s sugar and cornstarch which isn’t typical in cookies so that must do some sort of cookie magic.  Both the cookies and the frosting have crushed Oreos in them to make them taste like the best soft Oreo you can imagine.  They were super easy to make and eat!  We did try piping on the frosting to make it look pretty, but I guess I didn’t crush the Oreo cookies into small enough pieces as they couldn’t fit through the tip of the piping bag aka a plastic zip top bag.  I’m sad that the photos I took don’t do them much justice - they really do taste a lot better than they look in the photos.  I highly recommend taking a trip to a Crumbl cookies shop if you have one near you.  And if you do or do not, I think you should make some copycat Crumbl cookies as soon as you are able!
